American Food Equipment is owned and operated by Michael Clements, who brings over 25 years of restaurant industry expertise gained from multiple vantage points. His career in the foodservice industry began at the age of 12 when he worked as a hot dog vendor at Miami Marine Stadium, and continued through his employment as the Director of Operations for the Johnny Rockets franchise group of South Florida and for Monty’s Raw Bar (Coconut Grove), and later as a restaurant consultant for Nordstrom, RCI Marine, Flagship Marinas and more. A “restaurant person” to his core, Michael understands the industry and that the needs of “restaurant people” extend far beyond the traditional 9-5 business day. Bob Greene founded American Grinding & Equipment Company in 1952 to fulfill the equipment servicing needs of South Florida’s growing restaurant industry. With this foundation, he launched American Food Equipment, offering expanded services that included commercial kitchen design, equipment sourcing and wholesale restaurant supplies for over 40 years. During that time, Bob has garnered a national reputation for innovative restaurant design and concept execution and remains an integral part of the company, serving as a Consultant.
